National Service Directory
Clinical supervision of staff working with patients with a personality disorder is essential to maintain their emotional health. Staff receive both individual and group supervision. Training specifically aims to develop the competencies necessary to work with patients with interpersonal difficulties. Knowledge and skills are also developed through the use of case conferences.
Staff receive specialised training in:
• Safeguarding adults - boundary training • How to motivate patients to engage • Motivational skills training • RAID, Understanding Personality Disorders • Risk assessment and management • Management of self-harm
