Personality disorder services

We accept referrals of men and women with complex personality disorders from other health providers and prisons.

“We have celebration weeks every six months where we look at what we’ve done and celebrate together”

Patient - Stockton Hall

Patients with personality disorder often present challenges for services in terms of risk and behavioural management. Substance misuse and cognitive difficulties are not uncommon and these are actively managed and treated within the personality disorder services offered by PiC.

Treatment programmes provide interventions that reduce the risk of harm to self and others, address offending behaviours, improve psychological functioning and quality of life within a framework of therapeutic optimism.

Treatment programmes

Specific treatment is available in the form of individual and group-based therapies. All treatment interventions have been developed specifically for patients with personality disorders focusing on interpersonal difficulties both as a treatment target, and as a responsivity factor.

The clinical ethos and treatment interventions may differ across services, ensuring choice and appropriate treatment for each patient.
