Building Controls

SOUTH A showcase of innovation

The technology behind building control systems is at the cutting edge of innovation and as a result we see new products entering the market on a daily basis. What you can expect from the exhibitors at Building Controls South therefore is a unique insight into this technology and how you can make it work for you.

Sophisticated technology

Timeguard, a company which continues to deliver sophisticated controls technology for all markets, will show a range of controls from affordable zoned heating controllers to KNX-compatible switches and detectors. The KNX concept continues to gain more market share and as competition from over 240 manufacturers of KNX compatible product hots up, it’s never been a better time to come and look at what’s on offer. The company is also promoting its latest DIN rail mounted digital and analogue time switches and championing the cause for wider adoption of DIN rail switches in smaller commercial and domestic premises. Timeguard’s Programastat range

continues to be an installer’s favourite. At a time when there is almost too much choice

on the market, Timeguard helps by putting all the information you need on the packaging so you can check before you buy. Top of the range products on show at Building Controls South will include a wall-mounted controller for creating a zoned heating system with options for independent control of up to four separate zones for heating and hot water.

On the same stand, Theben will be

showing the tried and tested SYN and SUL mechanical time switches, with daily and weekly programmes and the benefit of simple summer/winter time correction which

have recently been re-launched with even better features. Installers will particularly welcome the addition of Theben’s DuoFix screwless terminals, previously only available on the electronic

time switches. Each DuoFix spring

terminal will securely hold up to two wires,

yet releasing the conductors is easy using

the built in release tabs. Last but certainly not least will be the new KNX PresenceLight Presence Detectors

which are being shown for the first time at a UK show. These KNX-compatible detectors, available in ceiling mounted 360 degree or

wall mounted 180 degree are set to become the trusted standard for KNX Presence Detection. The 8m detection zones, dual light channels and IP54 protection make them ideal for controlling energy efficient lighting and air conditioning in offices, corridors and wet rooms. A protection cover is available when there is risk of mechanical damage, as in storerooms or sports halls and the design is discreet and attractive enough for any locations.

A range of solutions

PcVue Solutions Ltd, the UK subsidiary of Arc Informatique will be exhibiting a range of solutions at Building Controls South. Founded in 1981, ARC Informatique is a

privately held company with its headquarters in Sevres, Paris. The company
