and that we do as well. In the hospital when Zoie came to visit, I’d always have her sit up on the bed with the baby and I. We brought DVD’s and she could watch them in the hospital bed with me. Morty also bought her surprises that were big sister presents… things like that to make her feel like the important big sister. She’s been great, she’s really, really good with Beatrix.(Zoie runs behind her and trips) “Be careful, are you ok?” (Speaking to Zoie)We’re one big happy family
Q: Congratulations on your engagement! A: Thank you!
Q: You said earlier that he was a great partner for you…. What kind of a father is he?
“I’m getting back into auditioning and really love acting”
A: He is a great dad. When I had Beatrix I went through some real serious medical complications. He was there with my mom and the baby the whole time and still was there for me. You know, you always sort of hope that the person you’re with will really step up to the plate when need be. It’s one of those things you don’t really fi nd out until it happens. He was the most amazing Dad right from the beginning and he’s wonderful with Zoie and supports her. He’s a great step-dad to her. He gives them so much love and attention, plays with them and is silly but still gives boundaries…all the things that you would hope for someone to be as a parent. He’s just over the moon for Bea and it’s really sweet. It’s defi nitely fun to watch. Until you really watch someone become a parent, you don’t know what that’s going to be like, he’s just really stepped up to the plate and that’s fantastic.
Q: We hear that Morty is Vegan. How does that change mealtime at your house?
A: Yes, he’s been Vegan for 20 years, which I admire him for because he has the will! He’s one of those people that just says ‘oh I’m not doing that’, and never eats a piece of cheese again. I can do that for a day and then I’m like ‘Oh, but I re- ally like pizza’ (she laughs). I don’t know how he does it. We eat health consciously in our house. The kids eat pizza and stuff like that but we shop at Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s. We don’t eat preservatives, we don’t eat anything processed… if I drink soda, it’s the stuff made with Stevia. We do all natural, lots of fruits and veggies. The girls eat really healthy. They don’t get junk cereal or anything like that. Even the baby food is all organic.
