The FHT and Habia are backing a campaign by theMelanoma Taskforce and British


Association of Dematologists (BAD) to help hair and beauty professionals identify the signs of skin cancer amongst their clients earlier.


The campaign - which aims to encourage hair and beauty professionals to speak to their clients about the signs of skin cancer - was


launched at the Houses of Parliament earlier this year byMP Siân James, and is being supported by a number of celebrities as well


as other hairdressing and beauty associations. Television presenterAmanda Holden, told


Guild News: “I spend a lot of time in hair and make-up, and if I had an unusual looking


mole, I would want my hairdresser or make- up artist to know what to spot. I believe it is vital that we do everything we can to ensure that people recognise the signs of skin cancer.”

Tomark the occasion, amaster class evening for customers was held where a topmake-up artist fromNew Cid Cosmetics demonstrated summer trends and answeredmake-up questions.

Glowing for gold


Glotanz has been given its first big break byMiss England, who have chosen themas their official tanning suppliers.
