TI Partners announces the completion of an investment round of £650k in Oxford Pho-
tovoltaics Limited, an Oxford University spin-out Materials/Cleantech company developing solid-state dye sensitized solar cells for the Building Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV) sector.
xford Advanced Surfaces Group Plc (OAS), announced today that Dr Jonathan Moghal,
Research Associate at OAS/University of Oxford, gave a presentation on VISARC™, the company‘s anti-reflective coating technology, at the MRS Spring Conference in San Francisco. He covered the structu- ral and optical properties of VISARC™ and presented the flexible nature of the coating which has been elu- cidated through the use of nanoindentation, a nano- scale hardness measuring technique. The presentati- on highlights one specific application of VISARC™ to solar cells. The VISARC™ Anti-Reflective Coating is a wet chemical formulation of nanoparticles within a binder and may be applied to a substrate by a range of wet coating techniques including dip, spin and roll-to-roll processing.
The other proprietary technology of the company is Onto™, a highly-reactive proprietary wet chemical process technology. Using Onto™ it is possible to modify the surface chemistry of most surfaces, but particularly applicable to organic substrates, provi- ding functionality such as wetting, adhesion promo- tion in for low-surface energy materials, and other funtions.

lasma-Therm has released CORTEX, a new fully-featured control system for its 790 and SLR
products. The CORTEX package combines a user friendly software interface with the latest computer hardware extending the serviceable life of the 790 and SLR systems. This new control system will allow Plasma-Therm customers to significantly extend the use of their current systems at a fraction of the cost of replacement equipment.
The CORTEX control system package includes in- stallation and a full system evaluation by a factory- trained service technician. It also includes features that are typically only available with high volume production equipment such as, advanced data log- ging and tracking, optional endpoint capability, and optional SECS/GEM host communications. Furthermore, VLSIresearch has announced that Plas- ma-Therm, LLC, a global supplier of plasma process equipment, has been awarded by equipment users as one of the 10 BEST 2011 Suppliers of Chip Making Equipment and one of THE BEST 2011 Small Suppliers of Wafer Processing Equipment.
