M Twin Axial Ribbon Cable, SL8800 Series solution was announced as a recipient of R&D

Magazine’s 49th Annual R&D 100 Awards. The award recognizes 100 of the most technologically significant products and has long been a benchmark of excellence in a variety of industries – from aca- demia to government to medical to manufacturing. 3M’s newest innovation joins a distinguished group of past R&D 100 Award recipients, including the fax machine, liquid crystal display, HDTV, and company solutions 3M Aluminum Conductor Composite Rein- forced (ACCR) and 3M Cubitron™ II abrasives.

3M has completed its acquisition of Advanced Che- mistry & Technology Inc. (AC TECH), a manufac- turer of quick cure, light-weight polysulfide sealants for aerospace applications based in Garden Grove, Calif. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The addition of AC TECH’s range of fast-curing polysulfide sealants expands 3M’s product presence in the aerospace market for the manufacture and maintenance of commercial and military aircraft. AC TECH and 3M working together will better serve customers in the aerospace industry.
