GARY BUCHANAN is arguably the doyen of British cruise writers, a specialist for some 20 years and a connoisseur of all things maritime. He writes regularly for The Times and The Telegraph and is author of three books on QE2.
JOHN HONEYWELL – otherwise known as Captain Greybeard – is the undisputed king of the cruise blogosphere, a well-travelled journalist who delivers straightforward news and comment on all aspects of the cruise industry.
SARAH GILBERT is a freelance writer and photographer who contributes to The Guardian, Independent and Wanderlust, among other publications. As well as adventure cruising, her work has taken her from luxury beach lodges in the Indian Ocean to wooden huts in Ecuador.
BEN LYONS is Chief Officer for Lindblad Expeditions and sails in both Arctic and Antarctic seas. A regular writer as well, he details the unique challenges of sailing in these extreme waters, and the real joys of both regions.

LYNN HOUGHTON grew up in Canada and the US, where she trained as a photographer and has always been interested in things nautical. Formerly a press officer with Thomson Cruises, she now writes for the Express, Health & Fitness and websites about cruises, well-being and food.
PETER NEWALL has been in the travel industry since 1974 but has been visiting ships for more than 45 years. He is a well-known writer and author of five highly acclaimed books, including the histories of Union-Castle Line and Orient Line.
GINGER DINGUS is a San Francisco-based writer specialising in cruises, luxury trains and soft adventure. She recently ticked her 100th cruise off her bucket list while her award-winning articles have appeared in Cruise Critic, New York Daily News and AAA Traveler.
PETER RUSHTON is an ex-Union Castle Line officer who has served in all manner of ships under the House Flag of the British & Commonwealth Group. Today, he still devotes his working life to the cruise industry, specialising in lecture programmes for many lines.
CAROL WRIGHT is a freelance travel writer who, in addition to destination travel, specialises in cruising, food and spas. She has been chairman of the British Guild of Travel Writers twice and has written 30 books on travel and food subjects.
RICHARD PARTRIDGE is a World of Cruising staffer who enjoys nothing more than getting off the beaten cruise track and discovering some of the lesser-known delights of the world. In this edition, he heads to Iceland.
PETSA KAFFENS is a freelance fashion, beauty and travel writer, fashion editor of Black Hair magazine and contributor to Beauty, Live Well, Health & Fitness and You & Your Wedding. She has also written three books on beauty.
