STRACHAN AND WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS - A PERFECT MATCH
It gives me great pleasure to again sponsor the Junior World 8 Bal l Championships in Blackpool this year. Last year was the first year that we have sponsored this event and we are very happy & proud to be able to be associated with this important event again. I eagerly await to see who can pick up the trophy this year, will it be another new face? Or will Mick Hill be able to successfully defend his title?
We see this event as being hugely significant and extremely important to recognise the up and coming stars of the future. The pool is usually uninhibited, exciting and played with the confidence that I am sure will generate future Senior World Champions.

Strachan and Milliken have a long history with cuesports in Blackpool dating back to the days when the professional World Snooker Qualifiers were held at the Norbreck Castle in the 1990's. Since then Blackpool has become a Mecca for English Pool and we have developed a strong bond and friendship with the English 8 ball elite players and their governing bodies the English Pool Association, the International Pool Players Association and the World 8 Ball Pool Federation.
In these difficult financial times we see the pub industry having a very tough time of it with pubs still closing down each and
every week in the UK. It is great to see that despite these tough times the game of English 8 ball strong and thriving at all levels. This is down to the quality of the game itself, the enthusiasm of the players and also as a result of the tireless work of the various national and international governing bodies such as the WEPF, the EPA and the IPA.
The World Championships, which we see as the absolute pinnacle of the sport never disappoints and continues to deliver unrivalled drama and excitement. We are proud to be associated with these championships for well over ten years and supply very best 6811 cloth to give the player the best possible speed, touch and control, all combining to give ultimate playing conditions. The tournament package of Strachan Cloth, Supreme tables and Aramith balls make a perfect playing surface for the finest players in the world.
