Championship Teams 2011 World Men’s INDIA

RAJ DESORH VIK MAKH PARTAB SINGH HITEN PATEL VIKAS SHARBAWAL

Hiten Patel

Last year’s quarter final spot was a little disappointing to a team who have the talent to be a top Four country in the World rankings. Currently in 6th position in the table it would only take place in the final to move them up amongst the very top teams.

All 9 of last years team appear again at the champi- onships giving them the experience and stability to be amongst the winners. Hiten Patel and Videsh Sharbawal are the chosen seeded players amongst a squad of play- ers who are all capable of competing at the very top of World Pool. Jarnail Bhandal completes the squad who should be appearing in the latter stages of the competi- tion, and with a strong junior section developing the country have the capability to improve even further in the future.

ALDY ALEXANDER DES SMITH DEAN DALY MICHAEL MAPP

Another country who are creating a strong squad with most of the team appearing in last years championships, the West Indies are developing their team for the future. Rob McKay and Gary McLeod are the seeded players.

Rob McKay following his semi-final position in 2007 has proved that he is capable of playing against the best and there are others in the squad who are equally capable of winning trophies. and there is now plenty of international level experience in the squad.

Roger Charles, Dean Daley and Ady Alexander are es- tablished internationals and help form the backbone of the team. The rest of the squad who have been intro- duced into the international scene are gaining the expe- rience which will enable the team to compete at the very highest level of international Pool Would not be surprised to see this squad moving up the world ranking to the level of the more established Pool countries.
