Spring Break Nationals celebrated its 25th year in existence in perhaps its largest extrava- ganza to date. The show has grown from once occupying only the bleacher-bound floor of the main sports complex to now encompassing the entire facility. Vendor booths, show cars, competition vehicles — and a well-known stage — occupy the central hall, where most of the attendee traffic goes to see not only the latest products, but the most unique combina- tions of installation mastery and creativity. And of course, there’s the bikini contest, in which beautiful women become the center of atten- tion for a short time each day, and during that time, the show practically stops. Unfortunately, SBN doesn’t always fall within


the days of traditional Spring Break for most higher learning institutions, but this year yield- ed a decent mix of college students, families on vacation and locals on break, the latter of which could most benefit local retailers. Ac- cording to Paul Papadeas, president and CEO of SBN Expo Group (which puts on the show), traffic was heavy and vendors — whose prima- ry cost in attending any show is booth space — were satisfied with the brand and product exposure.
