Pedicures are the ultimate in client luxury, having so much care and attention showered on an otherwise neglected area of the body.
So to make the pedicure experience even more special, any professional salon or Spa should consider investing in a pedicure chair. Important not only for comfort and practicality, pedicure chairs can add style to salons, accenting and enhancing your existing décor.
“Any salon doing regular pedicure treatments should invest in a comfortable chair for their client,” advises Gemma Roberts, Salons Direct Marketing Director.
“It is so much easier doing pedicure treatments with the correct chair, rather than ‘making do’ with something,” she adds. “Your clients will definitely see the benefit and so will you!”
Using a chair not specifically designed for pedicures can create an uncomfortable and impractical environment for both client and therapist, making pedicures less enjoyable to give and receive.
David Boyle, Managing Director of Beauty Express says: “It’s not just client comfort that is important in the salon, therapist comfort is of the utmost importance, eliminating back injury and pain therefore minimising lost work days.”
“The look of the furniture is important but its function is vital. Salon owners need to think about how the furniture will be used before they buy them,” adds Angela Barbagelata-Fabes, Chairman of The Carlton Group. “Where possible, try a couch before you buy it. If you aren’t comfortable on it your customer won’t be either. Comfort is the number one priority during any salon treatment.”
Angela adds: “Buying ‘cheaply’ is always a false economy - You normally get what you pay for. I feel that when you buy salon equipment you need to ensure that the goods you purchase are right for your circumstances and not just the cheapest. Reliability, safety, quality and durability are vital.”
