“I have a clientwho is newto professional skin care.Howshouldwe plan her treatment programme to ensure she’s glowing for the big day?”
“To prevent ‘skin from hell’ on the wedding day, skin needs to be prepared well in advance,” says Andréa Ní Éalaithe of Matis.
“Problematic skin needs to be treated months in advance of the wedding and a course of treatments will be recommended.”
“Begin thinking about skin six-to-eight months prior to the wedding day,” recommends Sally Penford, Education Manager for The International Dermal Institute. “This timeframe will enable the bride to get in a series of six skin treatments and put it in peak performance mode.”
Noelle O’Connor of Skinlogic agrees: “Make sure the bride starts taking care of her skin months in advance. No amount of make-up can erase severely afflicted skin.”
Sally continues: “A sequence of powerful exfoliating treatments is key, especially when paired with other techniques designed to address significant skin issues such as hyper-pigmentation, breakouts, congestion, fine lines and dull skin.”
She adds: “Three-to-four days before the big day is when a final skin treatment should be done. Brides make the mistake of doing this too close to the wedding day and risk a big pre-wedding nerve pimple.” Sally suggests a product such as Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant to give a light exfoliation on the big day.
In the run up to the wedding day Virginie Claire recommends Phyt’s Serum Multivita, a 12-day booster for any skin type, simply applied morning and evening. This should be followed by Phyt’s Soin Multivita 100% pure and organic facial. This vitamin rich facial, designed for all skin types, includes vitamins A, C, E for antioxidant and regenerative purposes, betacarotene to guarantee skin glow, and wheatgerm and yeast to plump out, lift and improve skin texture. “It’s the perfect way to make sure that the skin is at its best and brightest for the day,” says Virginie.
“A Matis Print Enhancing Facial, which is available for normal/dry,

normal/combination, problematic and sensitive skin types, is the perfect pre wedding treatment,” suggests Andréa. “This radiance mask shows immediate results, skin looks bright, fresh and radiant. This mask also contributes to excellent make-up hold.” She also recommends Matis Radiance Revealing Serum be applied under make-up to give that special glow.
Clients can also benefit from systems offering multiple treatments. For example, the DermaCo Pro 6 in 1 system will collectively leave skin not only looking younger, but refreshed, rejuvenated and rested. The unit features Diamond Microdermabrasion, Ultrasound, Biolift and Light Therapy. “The most important event of your client’s life should be planned in consultation with a professional salon which offers the essential treatments,” suggests DermaCo’s European Director of Sales Sonny White.

“My client is looking for a quick fix facial product she can use on the big day.”
“It can be stressful in the lead up to a wedding, so just in case there’s been any sleepless nights in preparation, Phyt’s has the cure with their anti- shadow concealer,” says the brand’s Virginie Claire. With argan oil, the concealer stays soft and doesn’t dry on the delicate area. Eucalyptus improves micro circulation to deplete shadows, mica reflects light so eyes pop,and Ylang firms the skin and gives fragrance.
