Dear Irish Beauty... Star Letter

Dear Editor,

I’ve just returned from the Irish Beauty Show and wanted to say what an amazing day I’ve had looking round all the stands and picking up loads of bargains for my salon. The show was packed with lots of different exhibitors and some of the show deals were absolutely brilliant!

I loved my free gift for renewing my subscription! I’ve never tried the Tan Organic product before, so this is a great opportunity to see what my clients think.

It was great to meet the team from the magazine and put faces to names! Thanks to all involved!

From Ali by email

Ed: Ali, it was great to meet you too! Thanks for coming to say hello. Enjoy your free spray tan solution and let us know how your clients like it

As this month’s star letter Ali wins a year’s free membership to AIT.

Inspiring info Dear IB,

The feature on Suzanne Alcock Thompson (IB February) was really interesting. I am totally inspired by her as a nail technician and her attitude towards education, and thought that it was touching that she said her childhood hero was her mother.

A step ahead Dear IB,

Thanks for including the gel polish step by step in last month’s issue. I’ve been interested in the gel polishes for a while and the step by step combined with the gel polish feature really helped me to decide to trial gel polishes in my salon.

Ed: Thanks Nora. If there are any other products new to the industry that you and other readers would like us to focus on, send me an email at melissa@aitireland.com

Supporting our

industry Dear Melissa,

Thanks a mill to AIT and Irish Beauty for staging a fantastic show this year (Irish Beauty Show 2011). I think that all in the Irish beauty industry should give them credit for their contribution to keeping the industry buoyant in what have been very difficult times.

They have committed huge resources (financial and otherwise) to helping the industry showcase itself when no one else was prepared to take the risk. They have also offered the industry an excellent insurance product in helping salons, therapists and business owners protect themselves and their businesses. And have also published an excellent magazine to help the industry stay informed.

All these commitments were made, and implemented, in the midst of the worst economic climate possible, when it would have been easier to shy away and not commit to such big investments. I think this commitment should not be underestimated, and judging by the many positive stories I heard at the show I am more confident than ever that the Irish beauty industry has weathered the worst of the storm.

I think the time has come for AIT to be acknowledged as part of the fabric of the Irish beauty and complementary industry, so well done to Brett, Dave and all the team at AIT for their continued support of the industry. Long may it continue!

I love Irish Beauty magazine because... Catherine James, mobile nail technician from Ringaskiddy, Co. Cork.

“I love Irish Beauty magazine as it keeps me up to date with everything that goes on in the nail industry. It’s a handy size too so I can keep it in my bag and read it in the car between appointments”
