16 Sarah Maher has been promoted to the position of client service director at McCann Erickson in Dublin. Maher has been with the agency for the last two years. She joined from Cawley Nea\TBWA and prior to that worked at McCann Erickson in Sydney, Australia.


17 Emer Howard has joined McCann Erickson Dublin as executive planning director. Prior to joining the agency, she ran her own strategic consultancy agency in London for three years and, before that, held senior planning roles at Rainey Kelly and McCann Erickson in London.


18 Oliver Loomes has been appointed glob- al brand director for Guinness. Loomes has been with Diageo for the last 12 years, most recently as marketing and innovation director for Diageo Ireland. His previous roles with the company


included head of marketing for spirits and lagers in Ireland. He played an inte- gral role in the revitalisation of the lager category with key brands including Budweiser, Carlsberg and Harp in fiscal 2010. He also led the successful exe- cution in Ireland of the Guinness 250th Celebration in 2009 and Arthur’s Day in 2010. Loomes has a BComm and MBS from UCD. Loomes takes over this position from Brian Duffy, who was recently appointed to the newly created role of Diageo’s global brand director for beer.


19 Atomic has appointed Ronan O'Donoghue as client services director. O'Donoghue has over 10 years' expe- rience in the advertising industry having previously worked with DDB Canada as a global account director and with both DDFH&B and Owens DDB as an account director.


20 Paul Arthurs has joined Atomic as art director. Arthurs has over seven years’ experience in the design field, having most recently worked in London with White Design. He has a BA (hons) in design (visual communications) and a professional diploma in advertising


from DIT.


21 Kristin Gilchrist has joined Alternatives as business manager. In her new role Gilchrist will be working with clients on an interim, consulting and permanent basis. She will also be applying her expertise to Alternatives’ marketing training business. Gilchrist holds a MBS in marketing and has extensive experience in market research having executed large research projects for a variety of clients, from conception of research design through to reporting, in Ireland, the US and Sydney.


22 Lauren Fahy has been appointed busi- ness manager at Alternatives. In her new role, she will be responsible for the management and growth of new and existing accounts, while also working with various clients on their needs for marketing talent. A native New Yorker, Fahymoved to Dublin in 2008 fromNYC where she worked for ImpulseMedia for four years. She holds a BA in politics and writing and a MSc in advertising. Following completion of her undergrad- uate degree, she worked in Washington DC as a legislative intern for Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton. Fahy has also worked at Bloom and Rothco.
