UK Xbox gamers spend £64 a month Microsoft reveals findings of gamer survey  13 per cent spend over £100 on Xbox games

ON AVERAGE UK Xbox 360 gamers splurge £64 a month on their hobby according to Microsoft. The format holder’s ad sales department – Microsoft Advertising – also found that 13 per cent of gamers spend more than £100 on 360 games each month.


The findings were part of a survey of 251 UK Xbox 360 gamers aged between 25 and 34 years old. The data was shared exclusively with MCV. 360 owners also play around seven different games each month on average. 83 per cent of Xbox 360 users game three to four times each week and 41 per cent play for three or four hours per day.


The most popular games are shooters, followed by racing and RPGs. One third of Xbox Live gamers play casual games or MMOs, and

THREE NEW professionals have joined Namco Bandai’s PR and marketing team. Former Vivendi and Koch man Gary Chantler has joined the company as product manager, working on upcoming titles including Ridge Racer Unbounded, Inversionand other currently unannounced projects. He joins Blaise Rodier, who recently joined Namco Bandai and will look after Dark Souls, the 3DS catalogue of titles (including Ridge Racer 3D), Earth Defense Force, Dragon Ball Zand Naruto. Namco Bandai bolsters marketing team


The tie-up has already resulted in SBK-branded bikes and demo pods filling up a booth at the Carole Nash MCN Motorcycle Show at ExCeL London, which was held last month.


The pods gave users the chance to play last year’s game. SBK 11will also be promoted online and in the weekly MCN publication ahead of its May release.
