Huhtala departs Square Enix

European PR manager leaves to pursue new creative ambition  Team 17’s Martyn Brown joins Double Eleven  GamesAnalytics hires Activision co-founder Alan Miller

SQUARE ENIX l ALEX HUHTALA has left his position as European PR Manager at the publisher. He has worked for the company for five and a half years, and was one of the original Square team members when the publisher acquired Eidos in 2009. He held several roles during his time there and leaves with “great memories and lots of new friends”. “I’m going to be taking a break from the video games industry to pursue a creative ambition,” he said in a farewell email. “If that doesn’t work out in the next couple of years, I’ll probably be back and knocking

on doors. I’m not leaving the country or anything, so please don’t forget me as I’ll probably be bored out of my mind in a few weeks’ time.”

DOUBLE ELEVEN l The independent UK development studio has recruited industry veteran MARTYN BROWN.

Brown is best known as co-founder of

Team 17 but left the firm last month after 20 years to form his own consultancy firm. As part of this, we will now be working with Double Eleven to help the company grow and develop.

“I am incredibly chuffed to assist, advise and help inspire Double Eleven, who are hands down one of the most exciting, driven and highly capable development teams I’ve had the fortune to meet in years,” he said.

“I have absolutely no doubt that Double Eleven will be amongst the UK’s most high profile and successful development studios within a very short space of time.”

GAMESANALYTICS l ALAN MILLER has joined GamesAnalytics, a data mining and monetisation company.

The co-founder of Activision takes up the role of strategic advisor and director of North American operations. He has been working in the development, distribution and monetisation of online games since 2001. “I’m tremendously excited to be working with GamesAnalytics,” he said. “The company provides a big win-win solution for both game players and game publishers. Any game publisher serious about

competing in the industry today must be able to rapidly analyse and understand its players’ behaviour and swiftly react to their needs.”
