Directly across the Street from the White House, The Hay-Adams is a true Washington, DC landmark. The building was originally two homes and is named after their owners – John Hay, assistant to President Abraham Lincoln & Secretary of State and Henry Adams, descendent of U.S. presidents John Adams & John Quincy Adams. It was famously frequented by Theodore Roosevelt, Henry James and Mark Twain and to this day is a popular hotel for diplomats. This is a traditional, intimate hotel and is part of the Leading Hotels of the World.
