as a yacht broker, i’m always shopping for boats. When it was my time to take a two-year cruising sabbatical, I considered every boat in my price range before purchasing this boat. Why? Safety is priority #1. I knew a metal boat would stand up to the haz- ards. Her original owner commissioned Robert H. Perry to design a shoal draft cruiser for sailing and diving in the Bahamas and Caribbean. Construc- tion was completed to a high standard by a team of well known professionals in the Pacifi c Northwest. Most people are surprised to learn that her round, fair hull is steel. She is very comfortable and easy to sail due to her air conditioning, watermaker, genset, hydraulic Hood in-mast furling main, powered winches, dive compressor, walk-in engine room, scoop transom, and dinghy davits. There’s more built-in storage accessible from deck and below than on most boats of this size. Since 2007 while cruising and after returning to Seattle, we’ve painstakingly restored Charlotte to “like new” condition. She comes with new sails, full cockpit enclosure, and a full paint job including deck, hull, bottom and spars. Charlotte performed marvelously in her role as cruising yacht and home; from Maine to Colombia to Texas and now Seattle.
