The TransPuget Race, a mid-distance
race hosted by Shilshole Bay Yacht Club, was held in glorious sunshine and steady breeze on September 11, contrary to the forecast of rain and no wind. Three flying sails classes and a non-
flying sails cruising class, competed for a nice collection of prizes, donated by local sponsors. The event was a benefit for Sound Experience aboard the Schooner Adventuress, raising more than $1,300 to support their educational programs. First prize in each of the flying sails
classes was a boat yard haul-out. In the non-flying sails class, a haul-out was awarded in a random drawing. The only glitch of the day happened
when the racers tried to find the Skiff Point race mark, which had gone missing.
The after-party was held at Ballard
Sails, with free beverages, and food available for dinner from a gourmet Taco Truck.

STYC, SYC, SBYC, and CYC founded a Jack and Jill series that combined one male/female double-handed race from each of those four clubs. Charter documents were created that described division breaks and scoring that would be applied consistently towards the participants in all four events in order to determine division winners in three divisions as well as both an overall individual yacht winner and an overall yacht club winner. Two perpetual trophies were deeded to this series, and charter documents identified that the series scoring responsibility would be rotated among the four member clubs each year. In this 20th anniversary year of
the Seattle Jack and Jill Series, STYC coordinated the scoring of the series, and STYC is pleased to announce the following results:
First Place, Division 1 (PHRF Quixote: Phil Mraz & Susan Mraz - STYC First Place, Division 2 (PHRF 106-170 FS) More Cowbell: Kathryn Meyer & Bill Blodgett - STYC
First Place, Division 3 (PHRF >170 FS) Moonshine: Kirk Fraser & Jen Fraser - STYC
