Letters Sweet Pea Calling the Sweet Pea
We read with interest the story submitted by: Michael Karangelen in the Sept. issue of your fine magazine as the boat in the article (The Couple’s Downtown Getaway) bears the same name as our pretty yellow1976 C&C 24! We had yet to come across a boat with the same name until now. We would be curious to know, the make of the Karangelen’s boat so we can keep an eye out for them when we are out cruising. We moor our Sweet Pea at Point Roberts Marina, so we probably share some of the great sailing waters of the Northwest. Feel free to pass along our e-mail address to the Karangelens if they are interested. Greatly enjoy your magazine.
Yours in great boating, Robert Peppy/ Linda Hildebrand
Their The Couples’ Getaway article has even more poignancy when you consider their article in our February, 2010 issue, Small Boat Cruising: Sleeping 5 on a Catalina 22.

Prior to this agreement, storage of sailboats on trailers was prohibited in the Marina parking lots, net storage and upland areas. Etchells and other One-Deign sailboats were required to make ‘unofficial’ arrangements with business owners at the marina. This designated Dry Sailboat Storage would not have been possible if it were not for the tireless efforts of Etchells owners Pete Ambrose, Jonathan Knowles, and others who
