Authorized Resellers 48° Away from Home

Evidently, King Neptune reads 48* North as he prepares for an Equator Crossing Ceremony. Sorry that I couldn’t get the shot when we were RIGHT ON the equator (.02 of a minute of latitude is just a few feet across the line!)

Cheers, PJ Baker S/V Capaz www.svcapaz.com

You know, if it wasn’t for the beard, that guy looks suspiciously familiar. Where is “Capaz” now? Check them out at the 48° North Cruisers’ blog on our website. www.48north.com

If you have not been checking my website for a while, I am now more than half way down the 2400 kms of the Danube trip. Just another 1070 kms It has not been an easy voyage, the upstream current in the Main and the many treacherous locks, but it is another dream coming true. All along the Danube is where so much of Europe’s history and future was determined. So far I have gone through six of the ten countries along the Danube. Budapest was the high light. Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia and Novi Sad the second largest city in Serbia, are high on the favorite list. But, just like the previous part of the journey that began in February 2005, it is the people and unexpected encounters that make it worth all the effort and occasional setbacks. As far as I can determine I am probably the very first to singlehand a sailboat down the Danube. Fleetwood shall be a sailboat again in another two weeks after stepping the mast in Galati, Romania. Then it is off
