GARY BUCHANAN is arguably the doyen of British cruise writers, a specialist for some 20 years and a connoisseur of all things maritime. He writes regularly for The Times and The Telegraph and is author of three books on QE2.
LAUREN PRICE frequently writes for the likes of Luxury Travel Advisor, Haute Living, Social Affairs, the New York Times and Going Places and contributes regularly to Cruise Critic. She also enjoyed her latest discovery – Azamara Club Cruises.
PETER NEWALL has been in the travel industry since 1974 but has been visiting ships for more than 45 years. He is a well-known writer and author of five highly acclaimed books, including the histories of Union-Castle Line and Orient Line.

LYNN HOUGHTON grew up in Canada and the US, where she trained as a photographer and has always been interested in things nautical. Formerly a press officer with Thomson Cruises, she now writes regularly for the Express, Health & Fitness and websites about cruises, well-being and food.
PETER RUSHTON is an ex-Union Castle Line officer who has served in all manner of ships under the House Flag of the British & Commonwealth Group. Today, he still devotes his working life to the cruise industry, specialis- ing in lecture programmes for many lines.
STEVE NEWMAN is a former school-teacher who gave it all up to become a travel writer and photographer. He now provides illustrated features to a variety of newspapers and magazines. His first love is the unspoilt island of Menorca which he visits regularly.
PETSA KAFFENS is a freelance fashion, beauty and travel writer, fashion editor of Black Hair magazine and contributor to Beauty, Live Well, Health & Fitness and You & Your Wedding. She has also written three books on beauty.
ANTHONY NICHOLAS is a freelance writer who contributes to the likes of The Independent and Scotsman. He grew up with a love of such great liners as Olympic, Bremen and Normandie and has made almost 100 cruises and crossings to date.
MICHAEL DEFREITAS, a Vancouver-based writer and photographer, has been cruising for more than 20 years. His award-winning stories and photos appear in the likes of National Geographic Traveler, Geographical, Islands, New York Post and Voyageur.
STEVEN B STERN is our American expert and author of annual publications Stern’s Guide to the Cruise Vacation and Stern’s Guide to the Greatest Resorts of the World. He has sailed on more than 750 ships and visited most ports of call.
