from last year, so this year’s raffle will be as much fun as ever and offers great pre and post race services…discount ‘Hang and Wash’ and camping from Seaview North, free moorage and launches for boats and trailers from Port of Bellingham, and a ton of other good stuff from the rest of the sponsors. Saturday night will be the BBQ


from Windows on the Bay and no-cover dance music from Gertrude’s Hearse. Oh, and don’t forget the free burgers and beer at the Friday skipper’s meeting compliments of the Dead Pirate’s Society, and free Saturday night beer from Coast Aluminum and Architecture and Northwest Rigging/Anacortes Brewery.

Maple Bay Yacht Club Labour Day Regatta September 3-5


The Maple Bay Yacht Club (MBYC)


is proud to announce the hosting of the 55th Annual Labour Day Regatta. This long-standing end of summer “Round- the-Bouys” racing for keelboats and dinghies in picturesque Maple Bay on southeastern Vancouver Island. There are approximately 10 international and local regattas throughout the summer starting with the Round Thetis Island in May and ending with the Labour Day Regatta in September. The annual event


welcomes sailors from across both sides of the Strait and from across the border to join in great racing, sportsmanship and camaraderie. The regatta will host the Don Taylor Cup for the big boat “Ultra Class”. Good food is planned again this year, including the infamous steak and salmon BBQ, Commodore‘s breakfasts, margarita party and 50’s dance on the Saturday evening. STYC Jack and Jill September 12


The STYC Jack and Jill is the fourth


and final J&J, sponsored annually, by area yacht clubs. All sailors are invited to grab your partner and come along! Whether you are participating in the series or just want to come out on a Sunday and have some fun with a great group of folks, the STYC Jack and Jill is for you! The race is open to STYC members


and non-members alike. One male and one female crew member are required per boat. Entries must be received at the Sloop Tavern or on the website, no later than 6:00 pm on Wednesday, September 8. Entry forms are available at www.styc.org
