Interxion contribution recognised at Data Centre Europe Awards


Interxion has announced that its Technology & Engineering Group, has been recognised for its ‘outstanding contribution to the data centre sector’ at the sixth annual Data Centre Europe Awards ceremony held at Espaces Antipolis in Nice, France. The award was presented to Interxion’s vice president of Technology


& Engineering, Lex Coors, and was given to the team based on their outstanding achievements within the data centre industry. Interxion has been managing complex engineering, design and


building challenges since the early 1980s. It has pioneered several new approaches to data centre design, build and operations, including introducing modular design and sustainable construction programmes. Kevin Dean, chief marketing offi cer at Interxion, commented, ‘This


is a fantastic honour for our Technology & Engineering Group, which has been responsible for the design, build and upgrade of nearly 55,000m2


of space in 27 data centres across 11 countries. Interxion’s


Technology & Engineering Group has been instrumental in developing and applying best practice across the entire company footprint and promoting the adoption of these practices across the sector.’


Fibre Technologies adds IMC range to product portfolio


Fibre Technologies has enhanced its product portfolio to include IMC Networks. IMC’s product offerings include the iMcV-FiberLinX-II range, a series of demarcation units expressly designed for fi bre termination; and its Industrial Ethernet (IE) family, a series of media converters which support copper/fi bre conversion with extended temperature support and DC power. On working with Fibre Technologies, Brendan Mullooly, European operations manager at IMC Networks, commented, ‘Fibre Technologies’ experience in working with telcos and large scale FTTx projects makes them a perfect fi t to successfully market these product ranges in the UK. We look forward to working with the team to help extend our market share in the region.’ Ian Hunt, managing director at Fibre Technologies, added, ‘We

Nimans and Siemens continue nationwide tour


Nimans and Siemens Enterprise Communications have embarked on a nationwide stadium tour which kicked off at the home of Scottish Rugby Union – as resellers discovered how to gain a competitive market advantage by embracing the latest developments in unifi ed communications. The fi rst event was staged at Murrayfi eld in Edinburgh and heads to Villa Park in Birmingham on 8th July and the Madejski Stadium in Reading on 22nd July. Ireland played host on June 17th whilst the tour wraps up at the manufacturer’s Hillgate London headquarters on 12th August. Yvonne Tierney-Neave, Siemens’ business manager at Nimans and Rocom, said, ‘It is very impor tant to engage with customers


wherever they are based. Roadshows are a proven way to provide the latest live product information and Scottish resellers turned out in force with a mix of new and existing dealers present. ‘The courses have a sporting fl avour and are aimed at sales professionals, engineers and anyone interested in maximising their business potential by adopting powerful, feature rich applications and technologies.’
