The famous actor Kevin Costner has been looking for a solution to separate water from oil, following the 1989 Exxon-Valdez oil spill off the U.S. coast of Alaska. As a co-founder, he developed with his company Ocean Therapy Solutions centrifuge machines, which are sophisticated centrifuge devices

that can handle a huge volume of water and separate oil at unprecedented rates. Costner has been fun- ding the project with over $20 million for the last 15 years to develop a technology, which could be used for massive oil spills. Now, just one of the company‘s V20 machines can clean up to 210,000 gallons of oily water per day!

Now, after testing the machines, BP agreed to use the technology. Four weeks ago, BP signed a letter of intent with Ocean Therapy Solutions to deploy thirty-two centrifuge machines to assist in the cleanup of oil in the Gulf of Mexico.

Persistence, doggedness and determination are extremely valuable anytime.
