Pulse is one of the UK’s most diversified production companies, operating across TV, commercials, film and music videos. Having expanded into TV drama, it cemented its reputation in the genre with the successful launch of Gangs of London. It has also won business with three new clients Hulu, YouTube and HBO. “We are very invested in scaling our scripted division, with a global outlook, developing projects on our slate which could go into production in multiple territories,” says Pulse.

Objective Media Group is a superindie within a superindie. Part of All3Media, it houses not only Objective but also Betty, Triple Brew, Main Event, Story Films and Purple. Despite the pandemic, it’s been a strong year for Objective which claims its highest ever place in the P100, on the back of growing number of commissions in the UK and the US. Coming up is its adaption of H.E. Bates’ novel, The Darling Buds of May, entitled The Larkins, for ITV.

Thames has been busy diversifying. At the beginning of 2018 it only made shows for ITV - notably The X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent. It shot two series of Too Hot to Handle for Netflix (in the Caribbean under tight Covid-19 restrictions). And it produced Hello 2021 for YouTube Originals, and won new Saturday night orders for I Can See Your Voice, Game of Talents, and Family Fortunes. Britain’s Got Talent has been postponed to 2022 and The X Factor cancelled.

The Bake Off producer pulled out all the stops to the get the hit series on air last year. Working with C4 and Sky’s health and safety team, it created extensive protocols allowing safe filming of the series for delivery for the autumn schedule. It was the first production of scale to film in early July 2020 and in advance of the broadcasters’ guidance being published. It has also upscaled its IT and edit tech to manage full remote editing of all its series.
