Darrel Evans: 28th February 1944 – 12th may 2019 It is with great sadness that the Board of SugaRich have announced the passing of their founder and Chairman Darrel Evans at the age of 75.

Darrel started his career in London in the 1960s in the metal

recycling industry particularly the recovery of semi-precious metals. A chance opportunity when clearing a cocoa factory led him to realise the potential offered by the processing of former foodstuffs into animal feed. By the mid-1970s his company, Tramar D&M Limited had firmly established itself as one of the market leaders in this new industry through its premises in Marlow and Hermitage. Darrel purchased further premises near Brackley, South

Northamptonshire in the early 1990’s and by 1995 had consolidated all of his operations into what remains to this day, the largest site operated by the SugaRich Group. In the mid-1990’s, Darrel purchased Acorn Feeds Limited and in

2001 purchased an interest in AB Nutrition to add commodity trading to the expertise offered by the growing group of companies. He further added to this by purchasing SugaRich from Associated British Foods in 2005.

Darrel sold the Group to a management buy-out in 2010 at which

point the Group employed 110 people and had a turnover of £60million. After the sale, the new team led by Andrew Newton, merged a number of the companies, expanded the food manufacturer offering and drove expansion through organic growth and further acquisition. Today, SugaRich is the market leader with a turnover of £110m, employing over 200 people across 9 manufacturing sites and is the largest company of its type across Europe. Darrel continued to be a strong advocate of the new company, remaining as its Chairman until his death. Darrel will be greatly missed by all at SugaRich. He was a true

pioneer of the former foodstuff sector and instrumental in driving the change in our industry to the professional highly-regulated one of today. He is survived by his loving wife, three children, nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

ForFarmers CFO to Step Down in 2020 Arnout Traas, CFO and member of the Executive Board of ForFarmers N.V. has decided not to stand for reappointment at the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders on 24 April 2020, when his current tenure ends. Arnout Traas started as CFO at ForFarmers in August 2011. “After a very interesting period at ForFarmers, during which the company has grown substantially through, amongst others, acquisitions and during which the listing on the stock exchange also took place, I have decided not to be eligible for reappointment for a new term so that I can focus on other activities, such as non-executive tasks”, states Arnout Traas. Yoram Knoop, CEO ForFarmers: “We respect Arnout’s decision. He

has played a vital role in further professionalising ForFarmers and in the implementation of the acquisition strategy as of 2011. Arnout has also been instrumental during the transition of a cooperative to a stock listed company. In order to ensure a smooth transfer of tasks, ForFarmers will be starting up an executive search for his succession soon.”
