Site manager Rebecca Roberts oversees Barratt’s new St Michael’s Gate development
New site manager Rebecca Roberts will be looking aſter the 224 homes in Llantarnam
BARRATT HOMES has appointed Rebecca Roberts as site manager for its St Michael’s Gate development - a brand new community of 224 homes in Llantarnam. Hailing from Cardiff, Rebecca is overseeing construction at the site, working closely with all those involved in the process - including subcontractors and suppliers. She has been playing a role within the industry for more than 10 years and says one of her priorities is to ensure a positive collaborative and safe environment, showcasing the highest quality of workmanship. “With a beautiful selection of two, three and four bedroom homes, we’re creating St Michael’s Gate with both families and first time buyers in mind,” said Rebecca. “I’m looking forward to achieving my targets here, and establishing sound working relationships with my team. My favourite part of the job is visiting once new buyers have moved in, and seeing first-hand the impact my influence has had on the end product and - more importantly - somebody’s new home.” Rebecca is also keen to encourage more women into the construction industry: “I believe if someone has the ability and potential, regardless of gender, sexual orientation or race, they should be offered the same opportunities,” she explained. “I am immensely proud of the encouragement and support I have received from my peers and from Barratt here in South Wales. “Te role does not come without challenges for any site manager - regardless of their gender - but if you enjoy finding solutions and being recognised for your contribution to the industry then you should embrace all it has to offer, regardless of whether you are a man or a woman.” Barratt sales director Richard Lawson added: “We think very carefully when appointing site managers for our new developments because they are crucial to the success of these important new communities. “Rebecca has the skills and experience to deliver homes of the quality our buyers have come to expect from us.
