Lisvane Cricket Club given cash boost
A north Cardiff cricket club is celebrating aſter receiving a cash boost from a leading housebuilder. Lisvane Cricket Club has been handed a £750 donation from Persimmon Homes East Wales to help pay for new equipment and coaching for its youth players. Te club has 180 junior members under the age of 15 and 80 adult members. Te donation comes as part of Persimmon’s Healthy Communities scheme. Alistair Waldron, of the club, said: “We’re thrilled to receive this
generous donation. We
currently run 20 teams across the club and we are looking to continue with investment and growth. “Tis money will help to pay for equipment for some of our younger members and also coaching courses so that some
of our under-19s can themselves become coaches. “It’s fantastic that a large company like Persimmon uses its success to support the community in this way.” Every month
sports clubs
and individuals in each of Persimmon’s 30 operating areas receive donations of £750 – a total of £22,500. In January
30 finalists from
each region will be selected and a public vote will follow, with
prizes of £200,000, £50,000 and £5,000 up for grabs. Te Healthy Communities scheme runs alongside Persimmon’s Community Champions initiative for non- sports clubs, which sees more
than £700,000 dished out to good causes each year. Victoria Williams, sales director for Persimmon Homes East Wales, said: “We are extremely proud of our charity schemes, Healthy Communities and Community Champions. It’s terrific to be able to support sports clubs and charities across South Wales with tens of thousands of pounds every year. “Lisvane Cricket Club is a great club which provides excellent coaching and facilities for young people in the area. We hope that this money will help them with new equipment.” Persimmon Homes is currently very active in and around Cardiff including at St Edeyrns Village in Old St Mellons, where prices start at £181,995. Llanmoor Homes announce third development in Caerphilly
Family-run housebuilder Llanmoor Homes is excited to announce the launch of its third development in the Caerphilly area. Te new Hawtin Meadows development will be located just off the A4049 in the village of Pontllanfraith with easy access to the A472. With groundworks having now commenced and the first few releases hoped to be announced at the end of this year alongside the introduction of a temporary sales centre, this development is ideal for househunters looking to have a new home by Spring 2018. Te development will offer 263 homes, which include a choice of 14 of Llanmoor’s most popular two, three and four-bedroom home designs, many of which feature open plan living spaces to cater for the needs of a modern family lifestyle. Set to appear as show homes at Hawtin Meadows will be two of the Welsh housebuilder’s most sought-aſter house types; Te Ferndale and Te Chelsea. Since it’s unveiling in 2013, Llanmoor’s three-bedroom Ferndale home has impressed future buyers with its spacious bedrooms and communal kitchen/dining area. Equally as popular, their two-bedroom Chelsea home offers the perfect solution for those looking for a slightly smaller property but of the same impressive quality and style. Te new development will see Llanmoor Homes investing almost £1million in community and leisure facilities by introducing a number of beneficial incentives to the area, including footpath and cycle links to existing neighbourhoods, funding for a fully equipped on site play area, a landscaped common and a regenerated area of natural wetland. Tim Grey, Sales Director of Llanmoor Homes, said: “We’re very excited to be
18
building in the Caerphilly area for the third time, and look forward to opening our sales centre at the end of this year, which will coincide with the first releases. Hawtin Meadows is one of our larger developments and the variety of family homes provides a unique product offering. With the recent announcement that the Government are scrapping the tolls for the Severn bridge crossing, we’re anticipating that this development will be extremely coveted and we encourage those looking to buy in the area to register their interest as soon as possible. “We are committed to working with Welsh Assembly Government in order to ensure that the targets they have set for affordable housing are being met. Hawtin Meadows, therefore, hopes to generate provision of over 46 affordable homes, both for the social housing market and subsidised open market homes sold under low cost homeownership schemes.” All of the open market properties at the development will be available to purchase with the Help to Buy Wales shared equity scheme (subject to continuation of the scheme & funding). Tis scheme enables buyers to purchase a new build property up to the value of £300,000 with as little as a 5% deposit and 75% mortgage, with the Government providing a 25 year equity loan for up to 20% of the property value. Llanmoor Homes was identified in London Stock Exchange Group’s ‘1000 Companies to Inspire Britain’ 2017 report and more recently won ‘Housebuilder of the Year’ at the 2017 Wales Insider Property Awards.
