Cancer Research Wales rolls out the red carpet for special Christmas event
A WELSH cancer charity will be rolling out the red carpet at a Hollywood- themed party for the 2017 festive season.
Following the success of previous events, Cancer Research Wales is hosting a Hollywood Christmas Ball at the indoor SWALEC Stadium in Cardiff on Friday 1st December. Guests at the black-tie event, sponsored by Chris Leach & Associates, can expect film-star treatment, with a drinks reception
in the dazzlingly-dressed
room, a three-course meal, followed by live music, entertainment and dancing. The evening will be hosted by TV presenter Ruth Wignall, who has been a longstanding supporter of the charity since her father was diagnosed with cancer and successfully treated. Tickets cost £60 for individuals, or £600 when booking a table of ten. All profits from ticket sales and the evening’s auction event will go straight towards the ground-breaking research Cancer Research Wales funds, discovering

cultural attractions across the UK. The UK Government’s GREAT Britain Campaign artwork at Heathrow showcases the many benefits of visiting and doing business in the UK. The images, which capture the beauty of different parts of Britain and Northern Ireland, have been curated as part of a joint initiative by GREAT and Heathrow. More than 12 million passengers will be able to view the pictures which highlight scenes unique to Wales; such as the River Teifi, Caernarfon Castle, Conwy Castle and Three Cliffs Bay.
John Glen MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Arts, Heritage and Tourism has unveiled the artwork, which is prominently displayed across an estimated £500,000 worth of space in Terminal 3. These images will also be shared across Heathrow’s social channels, thus extending the reach beyond Terminal 3’s walls and celebrating the beauty of Britain and Northern Ireland. Secretary of State for Wales Alun Cairns said: “Promoting Wales as a must-visit destination and ensuring that all parts of the UK benefit from international tourism is a key government priority. We want visitors from across the world to experience all Wales has to offer from its rich culture and history to its thriving city centres and breathtaking scenery.
