Movements at Mobile Mini
Mobile Mini has promoted Chris Fay to head up the sales and marketing teams nationwide. Chris joined the company in 2019 as regional sales manager,
although he has worked in sales management since leaving university in 2002. Speaking of his recent elevation, Chris says: “I am so honoured to
have been given this opportunity. I’ve been promoted twice since I joined the company, which just goes to show the level of investment in people and how the team are encouraged in their professional development. I’m really looking forward to driving Mobile Mini forward, developing and stretching my team to be the best they can be.” Aside from Chris moving upstairs, Mobile Mini has made a number
of other key appointments over the past few months. In London, Rui Pereira and Claire Williams have been taken on as national account managers to target new customers across the South. While in
New Ariens mower is the tops
The new APEX zero-turn mower boasts increased productivity and greater profitability for the commercial operator, says Ariens. Highlights features include ‘Hydro-Gear’ transaxles, a 10-gauge welded cutting
deck, 15 cutting positions in 0.6cm increments and swift operation, moving forward at a maximum of 8mph and 4mph in reverse. Not that users will be doing that very often, since the APEX can turn 180° in its footprint. The new mower comes in two varieties – the APEX 48 with a 122cm cutter deck
and the APEX 52 with a 132cm cutter deck. The constant belt tension system ensures the correct belt tension at all times, minimising wear and heat while providing enhanced belt life. Meanwhile, a foot-operated deck lift system ensures easy transit over paths and gravel areas. In a nod to user safety and comfort, the APEX has a high back seat with padded
armrests, and a Rollover Protection System can be added to the frame. Power comes from a Kawasaki V-Twin 726cc engine. Lastly, Ariens offers a 4-year or 500 hour commercial warranty.
Peterborough Julian O’Donovan has been taken on as national business development manager for the retail, hospitality and facilities management sectors. Finally, Bernard McGovern, formerly of Mobile Mini’s tool hire
division, has been made UK managed services manager. He will be based at the North West branch, to work as part of ‘Mobile Mini Plus’, the firm’s managed services offering.
New ECHO chainsaw
The new ECHO CS-7310SX chainsaw is the biggest in its current range and features a Japanese designed 73.5cc two-stroke engine with an output of 4.1kW. Built with heavy-duty felling and forestry tasks in
mind, the new machine is nevertheless a relative lightweight, tipping the scales at just 6.8kg. Other highlights include a magnesium starter housing which disperses the heat generated by the engine, and a ‘G-Force’ air pre-cleaner that reduces its exposure to dirt and debris. Meanwhile, starting is easy with the decompression
valve, and the heavy-duty aluminium handle has a secure rubber grip offering reduced vibration in the hand. Dual bumper spikes give users better control when sawing through stumps and thicker branches, while a rotating plastic chain catcher protects the user from potential injury and prevents chain damage.
