A dramatic monochrome skyline helps to emphasise the scale of Chippindale HQ and the size of some of its fleet. FIT FOR THE FUTURE

Time has not stood still for Chippindale Plant, which continues to grow and expand, with large annual investments and ambitious plans for

its hire fleet and sales division. We travelled to its Leeds headquarters to find out more…

T

he Chippindale name will be familiar to many EHN readers; the Yorkshire-based

business was profiled in the April/May 2019 edition and has featured in the news several times since.

First founded in 1949, Chippindale Plant is nearing 74 years in industry, and they've grown considerably since their humble beginnings. Winning multiple awards for growth and their customer-focused service they are now one of the UK's largest construction equipment hire and sales companies.

Walking around its large Leeds HQ, it's clear to see that the company provides a complete hire and sales service for plant, tools, attachments and site accommodation. It is also the official approved dealership for Volvo, BOMAG, Mecalac, Epiroc, Stihl, Belle and Atlas Copco throughout the north of the UK.

and expand our already large range of equipment we offer,” says Tony.

“We have strategically placed depots covering all the major conurbations in the north. AER Rents is a company that wants to see its businesses succeed, and they're looking for continuity and growth, and that's what we want too.”

Talking of growth, you have recently made significant investments into your infrastructure, sales stock and hire fleet. What is the thought process here, and why now?

“We have a continual investment and growth plan that enables us to expand and improve our offering year-on-year. This year so far, we’ve made multi-million-pound investments into our plant, cabin and attachment divisions to ensure we have availability of the latest equipment for our customers. We’ve also added a range of new fully equipped service vans to improve our response times up and down the country, and most notably, we've given our cabin division a big boost by further upgrading all our units to the latest custom specs and
