Biggie smalls Is it just us, or are telehandlers getting smaller? Demonstrating
the trend, if it even is one, is the new, super-compact TL25.60 machine from Bobcat – seen here at Bauma. Although small in stature the TL25.60 features a low centre of
gravity, enabling heavy loads to be lifted and manipulated with ease and stability. Minimal dimensions also mean that the machine has one of the smallest turning circles on the market. The TL25.60 weighs in at 4.4 tonnes, with a rated capacity of
2.5 tonnes, a lifting height of 5.9m and a maximum reach of 3.31m. A comfortable, high-spec cab is a given, with an all-in-one joystick, an interactive 5” display and great visibility thanks to the low-profile engine hood. Job done.
Thwaites electrifies Thwaites machinery is built to withstand the rigours of site use and
abuse, hence its enduring popularity with hirers and operators. There’s no halting the march of progress, however, so the company used its Bauma showcase to debut its new three tonne, all-electric dumper. Badged and branded as a prototype for the time being, the general
intention is not to deviate from the tried and tested formula. It is no bad thing at all if the new machine looks and performs just like its diesel-powered stablemates, after all. Time will tell, when we get to grips with the production machine – hopefully in 2023.
