TAKEUCHI Visitors to Takeuchi’s stand could try out the company’s brand new battery-powered TB20e mini excavator in a timed operator challenge. With a full charge, the 24.7kWh lithium-ion battery pack in the TB20e usefully provided up to eight hours of operating time at 65% load. Weighing 1930kg, the TB20e is the first Takeuchi
excavator to feature electro-hydraulic controls. Charging options include a two hour off-board fast charger and a six hour on-board charger.
The new TB20e electric mini was used by Takeuchi for its Plantworx Operator Challenge.
DRAGON Dragon Equipment used Plantworx to launch a larger compact crusher. Joining its established micro CR300, the new CR400 mini crusher weighs under 1200kg and is just 800mm wide. Mounted on rubber tracks, the CR400 is
powered by a 17kW Vanguard petrol engine supplied from a 33 litre fuel tank. The machine’s 400mm x 205mm easily adjustable jaw is able to produce output sizes from 3mm to 50mm.
Dragon Equipment has moved up in size by adding this new CR400 mini crusher.
SUNWARD Sunward used Plantworx to reveal its new SWE 20FED electric mini excavator. With a width of 990mm, this machine weighs 1920kg and its maximum digging depth is 2057mm. Power to the 8kW electric motor is supplied by a 76.8V lithium-ion battery pack. Another new Sunward electric machine was the SWA 16JE articulated boom lift.
Weighing 7800kg, this 4x4 platform has a 230kg capacity basket that can be raised to provide a maximum working height of 15.8m. Maximum outreach is 7.74m.
First time showing in the UK of Sunward’s new 1.9 tonne electric mini excavator.
GRUMPER - SELF LOADING DUMPER One machine being demonstrated at Plantworx was a most interesting prototype self-loading site dumper. Being developed in the UK in conjunction with civil engineering contractor JJ Mac Ltd, the new ‘Grumper’ is claimed to be the world’s first grab loading dumper. The prototype Grumper utilised a used
three tonne Thwaites articulated dumper. This machine’s swivel skip has been replaced by pair of arms carrying an innovative clamshell grab-style self-loading skip. Operated by a single lever, this skip can grab up to around 2.5 tonnes of material at a time.
This prototype Grumper grab loading dumper was a talking point at Plantworx.
