BLACKPOOL Council has unveiled plans for the single biggest investment in the seaside town’s tourism industry for more than a decade. The Blackpool Central development aims to bring world-class visitor attractions to the current Central Station site in the heart of the town, just a short walk from the famous Golden Mile. The 17-acre development site, which
currently includes one of Blackpool’s biggest surface car parks alongside the magistrates’ court building and the former police station, was once earmarked as the site of a Vegas-style super-casino. But now, in a partnership with UK-based
development company, Nikal, and Media Invest Entertainment, the council proposes to bring a number of attractions to the site. A new concept masterplan, developed by Nikal includes leisure uses, artisan food hall, restaurants, new hotels and residential apartments set around a versatile public square designed to stage open air live events, such as concerts, road shows, fashion shows, sports events and themed Christmas markets.

world’s first multimedia exhibition of its type exploring extra-terrestrial influences on the great ancient civilisations providing a fully-immersive educational and entertaining experience created with the latest technology. The indoor family entertainment centre,
Adventure Land, will incorporate a series of physical and mental challenges including free-fall hang gliding, rope courses, adventure trails and interactive climbing walls. A fully-
