The range in Regatta Professional’s showroom
Regatta Professional’s new Originals brand derives from the Manchester-based company’s desire to inject some Manchester style into the industry. The range encapsulates the Mancunian spirit and all that Manchester is recognised for.
fashionable approach to corporatewear. Explaining the origin of the range Megan Pacey, assistant marketing manager, says: “The range was borne out of the fact that we are a Manchester-based company and this brings with it a lot of benefits. There is a lot of culture, creativity and innovation in the city, which we wanted to harness in this range. “All of our designers live in and around Manchester and we thought it was important to design a range that reflected the city.” Adds Anthony Haber, managing director: “We realise a collection like this has to have mass appeal and canʼt be too niche, but we feel the products we have designed have instant desirability.

“People resonate with this range as it takes them straight back to their youth, while the younger generation relates to this range in a different way as it enables them to reflect their personality.”
Here we take a closer look at the nine pieces that make up this exciting new take on classic corporate jackets to see exactly what both Megan and Anthony are alluding to.

This modern take on the iconic MA1 style was a must addition to the range. This lightweight diamond-quilted jacket has a great fashion feel and wouldnʼt look out of place in any high street store. The exposed zips and ribbed collar give it a real sense of authenticity.
Explaining this jacketʼs inclusion in the collection, Megan says: “There are pictures of Morrissey and The Smiths standing on the doors Salford Ladsʼ Club and they are all wearing these over-sized bomber jackets, turned up jeans – itʼs a real key piece.” “We have taken a lot of time and consideration over the finer details of this jacket to bring it right up-to-date,” adds Anthony.
Anthony says that out of the whole collection this is the one that he would choose to wear. It features Thermo-guard insulation, which can be seen on other pieces in the range. As an outdoorwear specialist it was important for Regatta to add technical elements to every jacket in the collection.
This transeasonal piece is already universally loved by wearers and is available in navy, black and dark khaki.
