The Schoolwear Show 2016 How to get uniform informed


With parents and guardians wanting year round uniform availability, comprehensive size offer and durability of product – the Schoolwear Show 2016 is the perfect chance to talk to new businesses and exhibitors about what they have available on the market.

ollowing on from the success of last year, the Schoolwear Show will be taking place this October, for what guarantees to be an enjoyable and beneficial event.


Being completely dedicated to the independent schoolwear retailer, this event will give people a chance to; meet both current and potential suppliers, view the latest product innovations and to catch up with recent developments in the industry. It will also include great networking opportunities, with chances to see 2017 brochures, prices and a great selection of suppliers to the industry, for sportswear as well as school daywear. The show is designed to give visitors the opportunity to see which brands are the smart choice for quality schoolwear and is held at the perfect time of year for attendees to plan and order the back to school range before Christmas.


The venue The showʼs opening hours are Sunday, October 9 and Monday, October 10, 9.30am to 5.00pm and 9.30am to 4.00pm on Tuesday, October 11 and will take place at Cranmore Park in Solihull. This is an ideal location with good connections to Birmingham Airport, rail networks and within a close proximity of various hotels for accommodation.


The organisers of the Schoolwear Show were delighted with the response to the changed layout at the 2015 show and have continued with further changes to improve the atmosphere for both exhibitors and attendees. As the managing director of Blue Max Banner, Nigel Plenderleith, says: “The show continues to attract new exhibitors enabling us to appeal to a wider audience. We are delighted that the show is going from strength to strength and we are confident this show will be a great success.”


Why attend


With the opening of more academies as well as schooling industries constantly changing status and with the sudden increase in the number of schools reviewing their uniforms policies, the Schoolwear Show is becoming more and more crucial. Organisers have co-ordinated this event to make sure visitors will be getting the most out of the three days and will hopefully gain a better understanding of what each supplier has to offer them. The show promises returning exhibitors from last year, as well as new exhibitors including; Tie and Scarf Company, Candy Bows, Makura, Prestige Schoolwear, to name a few.


Brand new clothing lines


PenCarrie is a leading garment distributor and will be introducing two stands to the Schoolwear Show; Russell and Fruit of the Loom will be on one stand while AWDis Academy will be on a second. Russell and Fruit of the Loom will be displaying full schoolwear ranges, including the full Russell Jerzees Schoolgear, while AWDis Academy will be exhibiting stylish sweatshirts and cardigans in a variety of colours and sizes.


Andrea Charteris, customer service manager for PenCarrie, states: “With the business development and marketing teams from PenCarrie on hand at the show, weʼre hoping to meet with customers and discuss their schoolwear needs and the extensive ranges available from these two great brands.” Result will also be exhibiting its clothing line as managing director, David Sanders-Smith, says: “We will have on show all-new 2017 products, as well as our entire current Junior and

Youth range, which is perfect for schoolwear.” The new R233J&Y Padded Jacket which is shower and windproof will also be on display and is perfect for the wet and windy days that the English weather will undoubtedly produce throughout the year. Over 45 exhibitors will be on hand to talk through any schoolwear needs and answer any questions on the brands and suggest that visitors see and feel the clothing range to get a sense of durability and quality from each product.

In addition to the suppliersʼ stands, two informative and relevant seminars will be available for guests to attend at the show; Guidelines will be at 9.30am on Sunday, while The Tendering Process will be at 9.30am on Monday. These are aimed to inform attendees of any policy changes within the industry while also reminding them of the standard procedures, which are highly recommended and should be extremely beneficial. The Schoolwear Association will also be hosting its annual fundraising event which guests are cordially invited to. The evening promises to be enjoyable for all with a three-course meal, dancing, live entertainment and to top it all off; an 80s theme. These events never fail to deliver a fantastic and memorable night and this year should not be one to miss.
