Gildan donates products in support of Louisiana flood victims

T R

he state of Louisiana has been left in devastation after experiencing floods that have left over 30,000 families displaced.

With the hope of providing help and comfort, Gildan Activewear will donate clothing items including T shirts, underwear and socks to the victims of this natural disaster.

Under the companyʼs Gildan Gives programme, Gildan has encouraged more than 2,600 of its employees in the United States to get involved and will match all monetary donations made towards the relief efforts.

The donation is being made to the Orleans Parish Sheriffʼs office to support their efforts in distributing clothes to those in need. Eric Lehman, president,

Branded Products, Gildan, said: “Our thoughts are with the residents of southeast Louisiana in the wake of this devastating event.

“Gildan is once again responding to a need for humanitarian aid in the regions where we operate and we hope that these basic items can help provide a small amount of comfort to the displaced individuals and families in Louisiana.”

Resultʼs ready-to-brand clothing maximises brand promotion

T

o feed the growing number of pop-up brands, events or promotions requiring

personalised clothing, Result has evolved its labelling to supply off the shelf, ready-to-brand clothing. For easy neutral or self-branding, new Result and SPIRO products now feature either tear-away, cut-away or brand-free labelling. The ranges require minimal handling, allowing customers to insert or apply their own label or decoration; maximising promotion of their own company or brand. Resultʼs success and continued growth is attributed to the companyʼs ability to anticipate changes within the industry, keep up with promotional trends and to listen to its customers and predict their wants and needs. It recognised the rising trend for tag-free clothing and the importance for its customers to have

Fulfilling the needs

Originating from sportswear sizing information being printed on the inside neck to reduce abrasion, tagless clothing has emerged as the go-to range for the garment decoration industry.

Result MD, David Sanders-Smith, said: “With so many of our garments being sold into retail or being rebranded, we have been happy to put aside vanity in order to make our garments as label-free as possible. This way, we not only remain the decoratorʼs favourite, but fulfil the needs of worldwide e-commerce businesses who want the perceived value of a garment enhanced by their brand or logo; not to mention to speed up their delivery.”
