The Schoolwear Show 2018
Deborah Horton, of Charles Kirk & Co, holds one of the more interesting hats on the stand. Following the administration of Balmoral Knitwear earlier in the year, Charles Kirk has been manufacturing select items from the company’s stock range. This included a selection of hats and scarves. Visitors could also see on stand the increased colour palette in the popular Colour+ range.
Pictured here is Arwin and Ravi Taheam from Zeco Schoolwear. Arwin commented: “We found the Schoolwear Show to be very busy this year. Our product range doesn’t alter much from year to year, but we come to promote the excellent service that we offer and the fact that we can offer next day delivery because we have products in stock.”
William Turner & Son chose to celebrate its 50th anniversary at the show by bringing along some nostalgic items. On the stand was William Turner’s original desk, along with a handwritten ledger from the 1980s and the company’s first sewing machine, among other things. Also on display was William Turner’s new range of scarves and eco-friendly water bottles. Dan Turner said: “The company has changed a lot during the last 50 years, but we are still a UK manufacturer and still focus on ties.”
Regular exhibitor K.T Labels always draws a crowd at the exhibition. Here John Baines is pictured with the Epson Colourworks Printer, which prints garment labels in colour. “Once you print in colour, you never go back,” said John. He added that the printer was a huge success.
The new show format can be seen here on David Luke and William Turner’s stands. The open plan layout was well received among the exhibitors and the visitors.

Jas Purba of ETC Supplies is pictured with the Mighty Hoop. This magnetic hoop reduces downtime for embroiderers by allowing them to achieve perfect alignment and tension. “It has been really popular among visitors. I’ve placed a couple of orders for the product,” added Jas.
