Tshirtify has been chosen as one of the UK’s top 100 start ups

S

tone-based Tshirtify has been recognised in the top 40 of the countryʼs new businesses on the Start Up 100 index.

Tshirtify is the first on-demand merchandiser offering creative entrepreneurs the chance to print and distribute their wares as and when they need, making their dream of a new business or a passive income from an existing business a reality. The company was set up by husband and wife duo Richard and Kerry Flanagan from Stafford. The T shirt firm, which supports projects worldwide through global giving campaign Buy1Give1, is dedicated to the core belief that business can be a force for good. For every T shirt sold on Tshirtify a donation is made to make an impact in projects around the world including the Indonesia, Nepal, India, Cambodia and Ethiopia. Managing director of Tshirtify, Ms Flanagan, said: “When we started the company our dream was always to make a business that made a difference. From offering ethically sourced clothing to using business cards made from recycled T shirts our ethos is all about helping the smaller independent creatives to grow their business in a way that supports and helps others. “Being recognised in the Start Up 100 list goes to show that as

a business we can make a difference and as the business grows so does the amount of help we can provide through B1G1.” Tshirtify now hopes to further expand the business with plans to support a further 50 entrepreneurs in realising their dream and look at how technology such as augmented reality, virtual reality and 3D printing can have a positive impact on the garment industry.

Dimensions celebrates recent graduates from training scheme O

n Wednesday, May 16, both mentees and mentors of Dimensionsʼ Evolve scheme were invited to a celebration at Chateau Impney in Droitwich to celebrate their graduation from the scheme.

The Evolve scheme was launched in 2017 with the aim to develop managerial skills through mentoring. The programme was rolled out through Dimensionsʼ Castle Donington, Long Eaton and Castle Eden sites and into its sister company Alexandra and was an immediate success. The day opened with a speech from managing director of Dimensions Hayley Brookes.

The mentees were then invited to present a five minute monologue on their journey throughout the Evolve programme, following speeches from Martyn Lyne, managing director of Alexandra, and Pat Woodfield director of HR for the MWUK Group. The day then closed with each graduate receiving a certificate and a goody bag to celebrate their achievements. Ms Woodfield said: “I am delighted with the successful impact of the initial cohorts of the Evolve Management Development programme. We have run programmes for both Dimensions and Alexandra, and are always looking to invest and develop our people. To have a programme like Evolve become so successful, and make such a significant difference to how we work, in a relatively short period of time, is fantastic.”

Cottonridge reports record sales of pastel shades A

lthough not the classic choices in the hooded top market, this year Cottonridge has reported a marked increase in orders for pastel coloured hoods, with sales of baby pink, powder blue and corn almost doubling since spring last year.

Though firm favourites like black, navy, grey and maroon have held their place in the market, the fresher pastel shades have also been proving extremely popular, particularly in the leaversʼ and retail markets.

Cottonridge suggests that the current success of these colourways could be due to this yearʼs sunny weather and the general trend towards lighter, more summery shades in 2018.
