SureColor SC-F3000

Focus on Digital Printing Xpres

DTG delights

Xpres has continued to grow its presence in the DTG market with the next generation from Epson, the SureColor SC-F3000.

This production-level printer speedily delivers up to 60 full platen dark T shirt prints per hour, alongside top of the range quality with industry low ink costs; partly due to a 9L capacity bulk ink system alongside 1.5L ink pouches.

Featuring new Epson production head technology and Auto Platen gap adjustment, as well as supplied with a new high-capacity bulk ink system and stand, this latest machine is designed to appeal to T shirt printers with medium to high volume output. You can also ensure consistent up-time with a choice of CoverPlus service plans which include user replaceable heads. With ink costs as low as 9p per ml on both colour and white inks, the SC-F3000 is positioned above the Epson SC-F2100 in the Xpres DTG product range, which includes a variety of DTG-specifi c heat presses and pre-treatment machines, as well as printable clothing, such as organic cotton tees.

Epson’s SureColour SC-F2100 provides a solid package for designing and printing direct to garment whether it’s T shirts, polo shirts, tote bags or other fabric items. The stunning system lets you set up and start printing T shirts and other items straight away, with a complete solution including printer, print head, inks and software. Much like the SC-F3000, this model offers fast, higher quality printing, with reduced intervention and the ability to create your own designs.

The SC-F2100 has an auto-maintenance mode with a separate cleaning cartridge to substantially reduce scheduled maintenance, as well as a dust catcher to prevent fl uff and dust on the print head. It comes with an optional fabric platen grip pad and platen grip tool to make garment placement easier.

A4 SureColor SC-F100

While some sectors have struggled during the pandemic, textile and promotional goods have enjoyed strong growth. In the UK this has been driven by the trend towards personalisation and customisation, accelerated by the internet and the ability of digital print technology to economically produce one-off items. Crucial for this sector, beyond the usual requirement of consistently high image quality and affordability, is sustainability and reliability in developing products. Operations looking to expand into this production area are seeking compact, plug-in and play systems that require fewer consumables. They want to know that with minimal training they can achieve outstanding results on an array of applications. They want systems that are simple to set

up complete with a low total cost of ownership to maximise profi tability. Dye sublimation printers such as the A4 SureColor SC-F100, enable a cost effective fi rst entry into the market for under £400. This was developed for small businesses and start-ups looking to expand their product offering into the promotional goods sector where space is at a premium. Thanks to its refi llable ink tanks, as also featured in the 24in SC-F500, the price per ml for ink is signifi cantly lower than cartridge equivalents, contributing to frugal running costs and fewer materials to recycle. This example of digital printing is perfect for producing personalised gifts such as mugs, key fobs, phone covers and other small merchandise items and is also ideal for bespoke textile products such as small bags, aprons, lanyards and cushions. Peak performance and a compelling proposition for the fi rst-time user is assured by Epson’s proprietary components, from the print head and ink to chassis, user interface and fi rmware.

Another important consideration for buyers is the ability to work with a partner that collaborates with value-added resellers to supply systems to the end customer. These resellers can provide the necessary software, fi nishing equipment, training and consumables to create and support a sustainable, profi table business.
