Fruit of the Loom ranks high in CDP report for climate change engagement

ruit of the Loom has ranked in the top 8% assessed for supplier engagement on climate change, based on its 2022 CDP disclosure.


Adam Wade, senior director of sustainability and risk management, said: “Fruit of the Loom recognises truly meaningful reductions in our impact to the environment requires action down the entire supply chain. We make the majority of what we sell in our own facilities. However, we also source from other suppliers across the globe and work with them to ensure they meet our standards and commitments.”


Supply chain management is one focus of Fruit of the Loom’s commitment to sustainability in an effort to reduce Scope 3 emissions. The company has committed to more operational efficiency in upstream supply chains, working with strategic suppliers to reduce energy use and increase use of renewable electricity. Fruit of the Loom is among other top companies taking action to measure, disclose and reduce climate risk within their supply chain. The company is on a journey to map its supply chain to raw materials and is collaborating with the HIGG Facility

The well-known Fruit of the Loom fruit logo has been given a modern update in 2023.


By omitting the shading and highlights, the logo gets a fresh, clean look in a 2D design. The redesign of the logo stands for the rejuvenation of the brand and represents the traditional brand heritage in terms of quality, diversity and modern styles for all ages.


There have also been some new appointments at FOL International. Christian Lanvermann has been promoted to the role of senior marketing manager, while Marthe Kazur has been promoted to junior marketing manager for Fruit of the Loom.

Pantone expands its SkinTone Guide to 138 total shades J


ust a few months after its initial launch SkinTone Product Suite, Pantone has expanded it with a new guide that includes added shades and compatibility across multiple platforms.


The Pantone SkinTone technology allows TV, smartphone and tablet, display, and printer manufacturers to have their devices tested for authentically reproducing skin tones. This new special edition SkinTone guide marks the 10th anniversary of work on the product and includes 28 new dynamic shades that bring the guide’s total up to 138 shades, and

of darker tones and yellow undertones created at the request of Pantone customers who are looking for specific colours that closer represented them. The SkinTone guide was created by Pantone Color scientists by measuring thousands of actual skin tones across the full spectrum of human skin types from a diverse range of ethnicities and age groups to catalogue 138 shades of unique skin tone colours. The guide is intended to be a part of the company’s ongoing effort to help brands and designers foster inclusivity and representation across their products and creations.
