The future of digital printing is here The SD70 next-generation direct to fi lm printer is Sabur’s fi rst step into the DTF market.
It runs twin print heads in a staggered confi guration and includes ink recirculation systems to ensure a reliable ink supply to the print heads. Production speeds are 10sq m/hr at six pass and 12m sq/hr at four pass with a maximum resolution of 3200dpi.
The SD70 uses a vertical powder system which reduces the space required. This is compared to conventional DTF solutions which use a tunnel dryer system and occupy a much larger footprint. One of the other benefi ts of the SD70 is it only uses two standard UK plugs keeping energy consumption to a minimum.
Users are able to create highly durable printed garments with an
effi cient inline process. The SD70 can print on to light and dark garments with the addition of white ink. It is suitable for a wide range of applications including cotton, nylon, swimwear, polyester, chemical fi bre, leather, PVC and EVA. The inks used are Oeko-Tex certifi ed. Also available is the SD70-4 DTF printer. This printer has a four print head confi guration and a maximum print speed of 22m per hour. Optional light cyan and magenta inks are also available.

DTF production transfer solutions TheMagicTouch offers the latest in DTF digital transfer innovation. For the past two years the company has successfully installed and supported production DTF systems throughout the UK. DTF offers the ability to produce full colour transfers for garments and textiles, regardless of colour or composition and compatible with cotton, polyester, leather, softshell, performance fabrics, pique blends, canvas, denim and much more; making a must for all garment decorators to consider. The DTF process is simple; fi rstly, print the roll-fed 60cm wide coated PET fi lm using water-based inks and then lightly coat the printed transfer with a unique hot-melt adhesive powder. The printed transfer is then cured using either an automatic fi nishing unit or using a manually operated tray style oven. The cured transfer can then be applied immediately using a traditional heat press. Please note there is no pre-treatment required to the garments. The fl agship production printer on offer is the DTFMagic Pro60 model featuring the latest in dual Epson print head technology and powered using the DTFMagic RIP by CADlink. Among its many features the printer includes an automatic ink mixing function to ensure perfect circulation of the white ink resulting in minimal maintenance or production issues. The wet cap system allows the printer to be switched off for periods of up to one month without the need to fl ush out the white ink. The fi nished transfers offer outstanding durability, are stretchable and have incredible feel and vibrant colours.
