InkTec InkTec’s DTF off ering Launching a DTF off ering including printer
and compact shaker Direct to fi lm (DTF) printing has seen a huge surge in growth over the last year with many claiming it as the ultimate solution for producing a myriad of promotional materials. As a long-term manufacturer of inks and medias, InkTec has used its research and development knowledge to gain a deep understanding of what customers want from DTF technology. The result was the launch at Printwear & Promotion LIVE! of its new DTF range – including printer, shaker, air purifi er, powder, inks and media.
InkTec’s DTF 60cm printer is a compact, versatile printer with a printing width of 60cm/ 24in, supporting two Epson I3200-A1 print heads with a production speed of 12 to 15m sq/hr six pass and 9 to 11m sq/hr eight pass. It supports CMYK plus white for a high-quality print fi nish; there is also an ink recirculation system – ensuring a consistent ink supply to the print head. An Anti-Collision System to protect the print head from damage when encountering obstacles ensuring any downtime is minimised and a liftable capping station for easy height adjustment when maintaining print heads, comes as standard.
As part of the printer bundle, InkTec’s new powder shaker is one of the most compact on the market thanks to its vertical powder drying system, making it ideal for smaller workspaces. With its curved design and three heating areas, any DTF fi lm being printed on has additional time to correctly cure the ink and melt the powder ensuring a higher-quality fi nish.

Roland DG’s new affordable inkjet BN-20D printer uses the DTF method, which transfers CMYK colours plus white on fabric to create vibrant graphics with fi ne details, photographic reproduction, and superb contrast. Equipped with high-defi nition print heads, the BN-20D can transfer onto an array of light and dark fabrics to produce a variety of garments. The printer’s automated cutting function also makes it possible to produce designs using heat transfer vinyl, stretch, fl ock, holographic, glitter and metallic colour vinyl, which is diffi cult with standard inkjet printing.

During the printing process, once graphics have been printed on a special fi lm, the powder is applied to the fi lm and then thermally melted. This eliminates the need for labour-intensive heat transfer methods, such as cutting the outline of illustrations, removing waste from unnecessary areas, and retouching, which not only makes the work process more effi cient but also allows for the production of more complex and appealing designs. In addition to the effi ciency of the BN-20D, the ink used complies with Oeko-Tex, an international standard that guarantees the safety of apparel decoration, making it safe for use on children and pet clothing.
