Focus on DTF Printing A real hit
The new Resolute R-Jet PRO DTF V series was the real star of Printwear & Promotion LIVE! in February with both models, the V4 and V8, churning out prints on the Resolute DTF stand.
The V4 is a compact DTF printer that punches well above its weight. Its future proof design makes it fast, reliable, and great value. Depending on your requirements it is available in 42cm and 60cm confi gurations. It sits nicely in a new business with its included desktop curing oven taking up very little fl oor space. When the time comes a simple software upgrade allows it to print 60cm fi lm and take advantage of Resolute’s new fully automated compact reel to reel energy saving fi nishing unit. This new fi nishing unit automatically turns the curing chamber temperature down to an economical standby temperature and stops all the other moving processes when the R-Jet PRO DTF V4 printer stops printing, saving electricity. As soon as the V4 starts to print again the curing chamber is quickly back up to temperature and starts curing again. The controls are all powered from a low energy LCD touch screen.
R-Jet PRO DTF V4
The R-Jet PRO DTF V4 benefits from a new servo assisted film feed system with automatic film tension which eliminates any chance of the film buckling. The V4 can be switched off for up to three weeks with no need to flush out the white ink. No white ink is dumped into the waste tank while it is switched off. This is made possible by the intelligent white ink management system (iwics) taken from the tried and tested R-Jet 5 DTG printer design.
When size and space isn’t a consideration and you need V8 power. The new super-fast R-Jet PRO DTF V8 is capable of 28m an hour in production print mode and is one of the fastest DTF printers available. This super-fast DTF printer not only ticks the box for production speed, it benefi ts from Resolute’s sublimation blocking technology. The V8 has all the new features of the V4 – servo assisted fi lm feed, auto wet capping etc. – but it has twice the jetting power due its multiple print head confi guration. When running at 28m per hour it requires a special fi nishing unit to cure the prints in such a small amount of time. While the footprint is larger than the V4, the V8 can produce twice the fi lms per hour in a smaller footprint than two V4s. Available exclusively from Resolute, the V4 and V8 have automatic entry into Resolute’s highly sought-after Owners Only Trade Print Service. Resolute’s Trade Print Service means you never need turn down a job and lose it to a competitor. Over capacity work can be quickly uploaded onto Resolute’s cloud-based ordering system and printed quickly, at specially reduced rates leaving you plenty of room to add your margin.

The best of both worlds as standard Direct to fi lm printing allows you to print your design onto DTF fi lm and transfer it directly with a heat press onto a garment or textile.
The Brother GTX printers complete with the Brother reversal option, included in the Graphics Lab 5 software, allows you to print both DTG and DTF with your Brother GTX without any changes to the machine.
With the DTF process, almost any material or fabric can be printed but the process works particularly well with diffi cult fabrics such as polyester. The print is extremely durable, stretchable, washable and has rich, vibrant colours. The process is less tedious and quicker than most other printing methods on to diffi cult substrates. Multiple images can be printed together onto a single sheet and then cut out to be placed on to different garments or textiles. The fi lm can be printed and stored for a long time allowing you to print and transfer it to the garment as and when you need.
DTF certainly won’t replace DTG printing onto 100% cotton, but for diffi cult fabrics it is an extremely useful option. Of course, with all Brother GTX machines you have the best of both worlds as standard.
