Industry News NEWS IN BRIEF
Sign & Digital UK, which ran from March 21 to 23, brought thousands back together to share information, network and, most importantly, do business. Exhibitors met and exceeded their targets for the event, and many said they took several orders on the stand. Event director, Jenny Matthew, said: “It was really encouraging to hear that so many of our exhibitors took orders during the show. Sign & Digital UK has always been known as a ‘selling’ show, and this year it certainly earned that label.” CMYUK has been recognised as EFI’s top-revenue generating partner in the world for the seventh time. Robin East, group commercial director, CMYUK, said: “We are delighted to win this award for the seventh time which is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our sales teams, and the infrastructure that we have developed to fully support our new and existing customers.” Friedheim International has joined The Printing Charity to give back to its employees. The charity is helping Friedheim to invigorate existing staff and inspire new employees, in particular through The Rising Star initiative. Climate action NGO, WRAP has published two reports (Textile Policy Options and Cost Benefits Analysis) to provide the UK Government with the evidence and insights necessary to make informed decisions on textiles policies in the UK. The work includes a shortlist of policy options, the outcomes of each and their effectiveness as standalone policies, or in support of other options on the list. The Cotton Classics roadshow for textile wholesalers took place from Monday, January 16 to Friday, March 3 across 16 locations in six countries. Over 2,500 visitors attended to find out about new textile products and bestsellers. Planning for 2024 is already underway.
