Ricoh makes DTF solution available to printers R
icoh has expanded the application opportunities for direct to garment printing specialists with its new
versatile direct to fi lm (DTF) solution. Direct to fi lm technology applied to garment decoration (printing on a special PET fi lm which is transferred onto garments afterwards) broadens the opportunities for customised, short run, on demand, garment production, Fast and low cost, the retrofi ttable direct to fi lm technology is an extension of Ricoh’s existing Ri 1000 and Ri 2000 DTG capabilities. It prints a CMYK layer fi rst and adds a white layer on top. This is a reversal of the standard DTG confi guration of white fi rst and then CMYK.

on PET fi lm and stored as ready to go transfer fi lm for quick application. The solution allows print specialists to create more value from their DTG investment. It also achieves very soft and fl exible results and meets the Oeko-Tex standard.
DTF can be retrofitted to the Ri 1000 and Ri 2000 DTG printers
The process allows pre-printed designs to be transferred to garments, without the need for pre-heating, using heat transfer technology. Designs can be pre-produced
Axel Stuhlreiter, head of textile solutions, Graphic Communications Group, Ricoh Europe, said: “The innovative technology enhances the versatility and fl exibility of Ricoh’s leading DTG printers. In just a few simple steps they can be transformed to enable DTF printing on a wide range of materials and deliver a greater variety of applications. The fast and simple process achieves highly creative results quickly and affordably.”

Aeoon introduces new PLUS series
The integrated heat press
he new Kyo and Compact PLUS series from Aeoon has been introduced to help users put their DTG production line to a higher level. With an integrated heat press that enables users to pre-, in-between- and after- press their garments, these machines provide everything a successful DTG business could wish for.
By pressing the garment in-between the application of the white underbase and the colour layer, this helps increase the print quality and also helps with the washability of the print. These new direct to garment printers open up new opportunities for decorators, providing them with the ability to print on denim, canvas and babywear.
