One+All becomes accredited Living Hours employer
S
choolwear supplier One+All has become the first organisation in Stockport to become an accredited Living Hours employer, and the fourth in the North-west region.
One+All’s commitment to Living Hours builds upon the company’s Living Wage accreditation, providing colleagues with the security and stability of hours they need to meet their everyday needs. Cottonridge to sponsor Ukrainian refugee family
C
ottonridge is sponsoring a Ukrainian refugee family to come to the UK, where they will stay with the family of managing director Richard Joyce and his wife Caroline.
Mr Joyce explains: “We applied to sponsor a family on the day the website became live, but it seems it will be a long and complicated process. The government may make out it is a simple process, but it is not. Unfortunately, you can only sponsor someone you know from Ukraine, and even if you know someone there is a 48-page online form to fill in. This is the biggest refugee crisis since the Second World War and if companies or individuals can’t step up to help now, when can they?”
One of Mr Joyce’s friends is married to an Estonian who has family in Ukraine, so he has applied using this route. He has filled in the required online form and is now waiting to see what happens next.
Cottonridge is also raising money through Cottonridge Aid and is donating it to Ukrainian charities. Customers agree to pay an extra £1 per order at checkout and this helps Cottonridge to ease the plight of the refugees escaping the ongoing war.

Nicola Ryan, director of colleague support at employee-owned One+All, said: “As a B Corp, we’re duty bound to provide jobs that treat and pay people fairly. Signing up to Living Hours

Katherine Chapman, director of the Living Wage Foundation, added: “We’re delighted that One+All has committed to become a Living Hours employer, and our first in Stockport. The current cost of living crisis is squeezing households across the country, and for many that’s exacerbated by having little certainty over their hours. By becoming a Living Hours employer, One+All has joined a number of leading businesses delivering guaranteed hours and clear notice of shift patterns, providing workers and families with the security and stability they need during these challenging times.”
