Guests won’t know which song they’ll hear
until they jump (back) into space. Not only is the coaster out of this world, but each carefully chosen pop hit brings its own personality to the onboard experience, providing the perfect reason for a ride rewind! And if the onboard soundtrack is not enough,
there is more than 175 minutes of classic ear worms playing throughout the Guardians complex; songs that were too good to leave in the archives even if they did not make the final onboard mix. In 1966 when Walt Disney first announced
EPCOT to the public he said, “It will be a community of tomorrow that will never be completed but will always be introducing and testing and demonstrating new materials and systems.”
For this ride, and for this journey, we want you to feel like you’re becoming part of a Guardians of the Galaxy story, from the moment you step into the Galaxarium to the moment you step out of your Starjumper vehicle.
As the transformation of EPCOT continues to
unfold, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is everything Walt envisioned - an experience of sight, sound, and so much more. It is also an incredible culmination of the best of Walt Disney World to date, combining an immersive visual flight like Avatar Flight of Passage with a fast-paced trip through the stars like Space Mountain with a powerful musical journey like Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith. Drawing inspiration from current ride masterpieces, as well as Disney classics, served as the building blocks and next steps in Disney’s continuous journey to delight guests of all ages in completely new and unexpected ways.

IMMERSIVE “With every single attraction that Disney opens, we focus on creating a fully immersive experience,” Doxey continued, “For this ride, and for this journey, we want you to feel like you’re becoming part of a Guardians of the Galaxy story, from the moment you step into the Galaxarium to the moment you step out of your Starjumper vehicle. We are all so excited for it to open.” No visit through space – or theme park – is
complete without a visit to a galactic gift shop, and the new Treasures Through Xandar store features exclusive new product lines that perfectly keep visitors immersed in the storyline. Bright neon colors, graphic design and bold styles celebrate memories from Peter Quill’s childhood visit to EPCOT and for anyone who remembers hair scrunchies and flipped collars. In addition, the Guardians’ most steadfast, and verbally consistent member, Groot, is honored with his own line of souvenirs. The “Groot Through the Years Collection” includes toys, home décor, and children’s apparel, depicting his growth from
seedling baby to leafy adolescent to powerful adult. And guests of all ages will certainly clamor for the chance to own and wear their version of maroon jacket Peter wore in the film franchise’s Vol. 2. As the EPCOT team puts the finishing touches
on Cosmic Rewind, they are sharing how guests will be able to take part in the experience. The ride will open with a virtual queue, with access to book a boarding group becoming available at 7am each day. Guests will also have the opportunity purchase an individual Lightning Lane entry to the attraction. There will not be a standby queue option, so a flight through the galaxy with the Guardians, will take some planning. Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind opened
to the public at EPCOT on May 27, 2022. And don’t forget – it’s incredibly fun!
